Making a Leather Friction Sheath for a Spyderco Manix 2

If you have found the collection of leatherwork videos helpful and would like to send me a small donation there are details on how you can do so as well as info on the videos here: ianatkinson.net There is now a much more detailed tutorial for this type of sheath here: www.youtube.com This video shows the making of a leather friction sheath for a Spyderco Manix 2. You can use the techniques here to make all sorts of sheaths or pouches for different knives! Once the front piece is formed it's up to you how you mount it. It can be covered over to make a pouch or different belt loops can be made for the back. If you're doing the cuir bouilli it's important NOT to over-bake the leather! It wants to be in an oven at 50C max (probably as low as the oven will go) and not so long that it goes brittle. Re-nourish with a bit of neatsfoot oil once it's dry but not too much. The songs are all Eric Clapton and Shery Crowe and are 'Merry Christmas Baby', 'Tombstone Blues' and 'Difficult Kind'. Merry Christmas! Ian.
